About All Assam Chess Association

All Assam Chess Association (“Xadou Axom Doba Xontha” "সদৌ অসম দবা সন্থা" in assamese) or AACA in short, is the official FIDE("Fédération Internationale des Échecs") accredited chess association and represents the state of Assam, India. Assam Chess Association is directly affiliated to the All India Chess Federation.

AACA is registered in India, under the Societies Registration Act: XXI of 1860 No. 1347 of 1981-82.

It was established in the late 1960s under active industry of Late Bodiyuz Zaman of Jorhat. Mr. Kamakhya Prasad Tripathy was its first President.

The state of Assam being geographically secluded from the rest of India, the association had to crawl through myriad problems and difficulties; lack of fund and sponsorship being one of them. But past toil of the association members have now created a very conducive environment for chess in Assam. Now AACA has district affiliates in each of the state’s districts and regularly send players to participate in the National and International scenario.
